China will build more airports in the nation’s central and western regions, according to information posted on the National Develop and Reform Commission (NDRC) website Wednesday. Outlining a fresh transport sector plan for this year, the NDRC said it will continue to push reform and innovation in the sector. The government will step up construction of transportation infrastructure, including the international shipping center in Shanghai, and may launch a rail development fund as part of efforts to optimize the financing channels for rail projects, it said. Integrated transport hub systems are expected to be introduced in more cities, the NDRC said.
