Pentagon expects China to export stealthy fighter, WSJ says

A senior Pentagon official said China is expected to export a new radar-evading fighter jet and other advanced weapons systems in a move that could potentially see them deployed against the United States or its allies, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. Frank Kendall, procurement chief at the US defense department, also told a congressional hearing that the technology gap between US and Chinese weapons will continue to narrow as the countries’ military spending moves in opposite directions. China is currently the world’s fifth-largest arms exporter, the report said, citing data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
