Yuan bond issuance up 12.5% in 2013, paper says

The People’s Bank of China said the amount of yuan bonds issued in 2013 rose 12.5 percent to 9 trillion yuan (US$1.487 trillion) compared with a year earlier, with corporate bonds accounting for 3.7 trillion yuan, the Shanghai Securities News reported Wednesday. As of the end of 2013, 138 institutions, including foreign central banks, financial organizations, sovereign funds, clearing houses from Hong Kong and Macau, foreign insurance firms, as well as overseas companies under the RQFII and QFII schemes, have taken part in the interbank bond markets, the report said.
