Certification required for children car seats, Xinhua says

All car seats for infants and children must obtain a China Compulsory Certification (CCC) for product quality standardization within 12 months starting Sept. 1, 2014 while products without such certification will not be allowed to be manufactured, sold in or imported to China starting Sept. 1, 2015, the official Xinhua news agency reported Sunday, citing sources from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and Certification and Accreditation Administration. At present, car seats are not commonly used, despite the presence of a compulsory national standard for the product category, the report said.
