Chinese telecom and communications equipment giant Huawei Technologies has officially entered the Nepal market in partnership with the nation’s state-owned telecommunications service provider, Shanghai Daily reported Tuesday. At a launch program in Kathmandu Tuesday, Huawei representative Li Ji was quoted as saying that the partnership with Nepal Telecom has the potential to bring a positive change to the lives of Nepalese. According to the Nepal Telecom Authority, mobile penetration reached 72.58 percent in the country. Of the 7.3 million internet subscribers in the country, 6.9 million are said to the surf the net on their mobile phones.
