The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will centralize data collection and submission by internet by 2015 as part of an upgrade of its statistics service, the official Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday. The new system will cover survey data collected via handheld devices. All data will be processed in a central electronic hub, the report said. Since 2012, more than 700,000 companies have adopted electronic means to send data to NBS-designated collection points where these are processed by traditional methods, the report said.
