British sports car maker Aston Martin will recall 17,590 cars after it found fake plastic material on their acceleration pedal assembly, news portal Sina Finance reported Tuesday. The recall covers about 75 percent of all cars made since November 2007 except its Vanquish model, the report said, citing a company filing to the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The defective material, which might increase the risk of accidents, was supplied by Shenzhen Kexiang Mould Tool Co. Ltd., it said. However, no accidents or injuries relating to the material have been reported, an Aston Martin spokesperson was quoted as saying.
