The second pipeline of China’s West-East Gas Pipeline Project has carried over 70 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas since becoming operational three years ago, becoming an important source of gas supply for the country, Beijing Times reported Thursday. According to China National Petroleum Corp, the gas station at Horgos in Xinjiang province supplies around 69 million cubic meters of gas to downstream stations each day. In 2013, it supplied a total of around 27.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The second pipeline of the West-East Gas Pipeline Project starts from Horgos and connects to 14 provinces and cities including Zhejiang, Shanghai on the east and Guangdong and Guangxi down south, the report said.
