Chinese carmaker Geely has taken the lead in passenger car sales in Ukraine with a 12.4 percent share of the market in January, China Daily reported Wednesday, citing Auto-Consulting Analysis Group. It sold 1,356 units in the month, up 44.26 percent year on year, indicating a new trend in the Ukrainian market, the industry body was quoted as saying. Toyota and Ukraine’s ZAZ followed with sales of 1,253 and 860 units, respectively. Car sales in Ukraine rose 4.3 percent year on year to 10,950 units in January. In 2013, 346,746 vehicles were sold in the country, down 4.5 percent from a year earlier, the report said.
