They may not have all the licenses yet but China United Network Communications Group Co. Ltd. (00762.HK, 600050.CN) and China Telecom Corp. Ltd. (00728.HK) are keen to catch up with China Mobile Ltd. (00941.HK) in 4G services, Xinhua reported Thursday. China Unicom plans to launch 4G network trials next month and China Telecom will announce mobile numbers for its 4G service next Friday, the report said. China Telecom chairman Wang Xiaochu said last month that of the 100 million new handsets to be ordered this year, at least 36 million will be 4G-compliant, the report said.
