WHO warns of more H7N9 cases in China, paper says

The World Health Organization (WHO) said Tuesday that the number of patients suffering from the H7N9 avian flu in China is expected to increase as winter weather continues, Beijing Times reported Thursday. Since the first H7N9 human infection case was identified in March 2013, there were a total of 286 confirmed cases up to February 4, with 60 deaths. Meanwhile, the National Health and Family Planning Commission said there are no signs suggesting that the deadly H7N9 virus can be transmitted between humans, the report said.
