India is investigating China’s Huawei Technologies for alleged hacking of state-run phone company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. The government gave no details about how BSNL might have been hacked by the Chinese telecom company which provides much of the hardware used in India’s phone networks. Killi Kruparani, India’s junior minister for communications and information technology, told lawmakers that an investigation is under way, the report said. A spokesman for Huawei’s India unit denied the company’s involvement in any hacking.
