Taiwan foreign reserves hit record high in January, paper says

Taiwan’s foreign reserves reached a record high of US$416.93 billion at the end of January, China Securities Journal reported Friday, citing data released Thursday by the island’s central bank. The amount represents an increase of US$124 million from December, the report said. In explaining the small increase, the bank said the euro depreciated by 0.89 percent against US dollar, dragging down some the investment gains.
