Taiwan may raise mainland tourist quota, extend stay, paper says

Taiwan plans to raise the daily quota for individual mainland tourists by 1,000 to 4,000 from April, United Daily News reported Friday, citing the island’s tourism bureau. Also, the maximum allowable period of stay, 15 days at present, may be extended to one month, according to the bureau. The proposals will be discussed at the next meeting of the Taiwan Strait Tourism Association and the mainland’s Association for Tourism Exchange Across the Taiwan Strait at the end of the month, the report said.
