CSRC green lights 21 M&A deals in Jan, paper says

The China Securities Regulatory Commission received 25 applications for mergers and acquisitions in January and accepted 21, which together involved 16 firms, Securities Daily reported Monday, citing data from the regulator. According to research firm Zero2IPO Group, 109 M&A deals involving US$7.56 billion in capital were completed in China last month. The regulator’s decision to suspend listing approvals last year led to a surge of M&A requests to 93, of which 86 were approved, the report said.
