China Mobile Ltd. (00941.HK) said it will lower 4G service fees and overhaul charges to attract more users and allay customer fears that 4G’s top speeds equal high prices, the 21st Century Business Herald reported Tuesday, citing Lu Wenchang, deputy general manager of China Mobile’s marketing department. China Mobile also said subscribers will pay 500 yuan (US$82.50) at most in 4G data charges and be able to use up to 15GB a month. 4G service charges could be lowered, probably in six to 12 months, when there is wider adoption of cheaper 4G handsets. The lowest 4G monthly service fee now is 138 yuan, but a 88 yuan monthly package is believed to be in the pipeline, the report said.
