H3C Technologies Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP, HPQ), will focus more on information technology solutions rather than its traditional network infrastructure business amid rising demand in data consumption, mobile internet, social networking and internet of things, Davis Hui, general manager for Hong Kong and Macau, told a media briefing.
For the next 10 years, Hui expects revenue to come mainly from providing connectivity between mobile devices and corporate databases, as well as setting up data centers for companies. H3C posted turnover of US$1.64 billion in 2012. Income from its data center business currently accounts for half of company revenue.
