Polysilicon price on rapid rise in China, paper says

The price of solar raw material polysilicon is on the rise in China, climbing from about 130,000 yuan (US$21,451.13) per metric ton in late December to 160,000 yuan per metric ton Monday, the China Securities Journal reported. The growth is down to growing investment in photovoltaic power plants in the last year, Lv Jinbiao, GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. (03800.HK) senior executive, was quoted as saying. Lv also said that the Ministry of Commerce’s anti-dumping measures on solar-grade polysilicon imports from several countries was pushing up prices.
