China January export, import value up 10.3%, govt says

China posted a 10.3 percent increase in total import and export value to US$382.4 billion in January compared with same month last year, the General Administration of Customs said on its website. The trade surplus expanded 14 percent to US$31.86 billion. The value of trade between China and Europe climbed 14.6 percent to 341.19 billion yuan (US$56.19 billion) from a year earlier while that with the United States was up 8.8 percent to 299.23 billion yuan, it said.
