Anhui aims to bring three cities under an FTZ, paper says

Anhui province is joining over a dozen other provinces and Chinese cities that are preparing to file applications to the central government for approval to set up free-trade zones, the National Business Daily reported Thursday. Cao Yong, head of Anhui’s commerce department, was quoted as saying that the province is planning to file an application to bring three cities — Hefei, Wuhu and Maanshan — under a free-trade zone. The province aims to finish a feasibility study by the end of this month and submit a formal application before June, the report said.
