Lenovo Group Ltd. (00992.HK) reported a 29.5 percent rise in net profit for its fiscal third quarter to December, beating market forecasts. The company had net income of US$265 million for the three months, according a regulatory filing Thursday. Analysts had expected a profit of US$244 million. Revenue rose 15.28 percent from a year earlier to US$1.08 billion. As of the end of December, Lenovo remained the world’s biggest personal computer maker globally, with an all-time high market share of 18.5 percent. For the nine months to December, the Chinese firm posted a net profit of US$659 million, marking an increase of 29.6 percent over the same period in 2012.
