Xinjiang’s Yutian county hit by 7.3 quake Wednesday, paper says

The China Earthquake Networks Center has confirmed that an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck Yutian county in Xinjiang province at 5pm Wednesday, the Shanghai Securities News reported. It was not immediately clear if the quake caused any casualties or significant damage, the report said. Yutian county, which covers 39,500 square kilometers, has a population of 210,000 Uyghurs, according to the report.
