Banks to trade wealth products in interbank market, paper says

At least 16 listed banks have been allowed to open accounts in the interbank bond market to trade wealth management products, the Shanghai Securities News reported Friday, citing a notice released by the China Foreign Exchange Trade Center. Banks should open a separate account for each product they issue, according to the newspaper. The move effectively gives wealth management products the same status as funds in a bid to boost transparency in the trading of such products, the report said.
