China orders boost Iran oil exports, WSJ says

Chinese purchases of crude boosted Iran’s oil exports in January, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing an energy watchdog. The International Energy Agency said Iranian crude exports rose 100,000 barrels a day to 1.32 million barrels a day, with the largest part of that increase coming from China, the report said. But the volume of Iran’s exports is above a one-million-barrels-a-day limit agreed with world powers, suggesting the country may have to cut sales to comply, it said.
