Funds’ non-public fundraising up 69.2% in 2013, report says

The 89 mutual fund companies in China raised 1.28 trillion yuan (US$211.08 billion) through non-public fundraising in 2013, up 69.21 percent from the previous year, Money Weekly reported Monday, citing data from custodian banks. The growth was much faster than the 5.6 percent increase in funds raised through public offerings. Meanwhile, the funds saw their combined assets under management grow 17.5 percent to 4.23 trillion yuan during the year, the report said.
