IKEA napkins fail China quality test, paper says

Many napkins used in restaurants are unhygienic and of poor quality including those sold by Swedish home furnishing giant IKEA, Shanghai Daily reported Monday. Napkins sold at IKEA stores and several big Chinese napkin brands were found substandard for problems such as tensile strength and moisture content in a test by the Beijing Consumer Association, the report said, citing an investigation by state broadcaster CCTV. A third of 30 napkin samples bought randomly from supermarkets, wholesale markets and IKEA in Beijing failed the association’s quality test. Another five had labeling problems, the report said.
