Denmark welcomes bigger Chinese role in the Arctic, paper says

Denmark welcomes bigger Chinese involvement in the Arctic, particularly in sectors such as mining, fishing and sea route development, China Daily reported Tuesday, citing Danish Arctic Ambassador Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen. The official, along with Greenland Deputy Foreign Minister KaiHolst Andersen, made the remarks during a visit to China that was aimed at seeking more cooperation opportunities. Andersen said they are communicating with two Chinese firms, including a copper company in Jiangxi province, about mining cooperation in Greenland.
