Haitong Securities Co. Ltd. (06837.HK, 600837.CN) has reaped 280 million yuan (US$46.1 million) in underwriting fees from seven private placement jobs so far this year, China Securities Times reported Wednesdays. The income is more than what the company earned through the business in the whole of 2013, it said. As of February 18, mainland securities firms had received a combined 660 million yuan as agent’s fees from 25 private placement exercises so far this year. The amount was double compared to the same period last year, the report said. Last year, 54 securities companies are said to have reaped combined underwriting income of 3.15 billion yuan from 193 private placement projects.
