Bohai-Rim coal prices down for sixth week in a row, paper says

Bohai-Rim coal prices have fallen for a sixth straight week amid weakening demand, the China Securities Journal reported Thursday, citing data from the Qinhuangdao coal market. Prices for 5500-Kcal steam coal averaged 562 yuan (US$92.13) per metric ton as of Feb. 19, down 9 yuan from the previous week, the paper said. Analysts were quoted as saying that coal prices are expected to remain low in the short term.
