Beijing state security chief sacked, paper says

Liang Ke, director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of State Security, was removed from his post on Friday, Wen Wei Po reported, without citing any source. According to foreign media reports, the 42-year-old Liang was taken into custody on suspicion that he was monitoring some of the members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party’s Central Committee. Li Dong, deputy chief of the city’s Public Security Bureau, has been appointed to replace Liang, the report said.
