Li touts anti-graft progress, Xinhua says

Premier Li Keqiang {李克強} said the government’s anti-corruption campaign has had significant progress in the past year and efforts to improve oversight, law enforcement, approval procedures and discipline will continue this year, the official Xinhua news agency reported Monday. In a Feb. 11 work meeting, Li said expenses on official conferences were down 52 percent in 2013 from the previous year while those on receptions, vehicles and overseas trips fell 35 percent. The administrative approval process should follow regulations and not be influenced by perceptions that anything can be done unless prohibited by law, Li was quoted as saying.
