Ministry to kick off rural land acquisition reform, paper says

The Ministry of Land and Resources will launch a trial reform on rural land acquisitions, in a bid to improve procedures and boost compensation for affected residents, the China Securities Journal reported Tuesday, citing Yan Zhirao, director of the ministry’s department of land environment and resources. The ministry will also consider allocating a portion of the funds from the appreciation of the value of land for social security and training of rural residents, the report said.
