Tianjin to have 12,000 green cars on road by 2015, Xinhua says

Tianjin is ramping up its push to get more new-energy vehicles on its streets, with plans to have 12,000 on the road by 2015, Xinhua reported Tuesday, citing the municipal government. The city is promoting the vehicles in eight key sectors, including public transport, postal services, and government bodies. Tianjin expects the plan to save 88,000 metric tons of fuel and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 192,000 metric tons every year, the report said.
