China’s advertising market is expected to grow 6 percent this year, China Daily reported Tuesday, citing China Media and Market Trends 2014 report released by CTR and Kantar Group, a leading market research, insight and consultancy network. Although advertising has been struggling in traditional media, online advertising spending surged 46 percent in 2013, according to the industry report. Total advertising spending increased 6.4 percent last year, with the television sector reporting a 9.6 percent growth. Meanwhile, growth rates for traditional print media such as newspaper and magazines declined 8 and 6.6 percent, respectively, the report said.
