Baidu 4Q revenue pushes past estimates, WSJ says

Dominant mainland search engine Baidu Inc. showed continued growth in ad sales by topping its hearty projections for fourth-quarter revenue, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. The company’s total revenue increased by half to 9.52 billion yuan (US$1.57 billion), above its October projection of 9.22 billion yuan to 9.48 billion yuan, the report said. Baidu said it expected first-quarter revenue to be between 9.24 billion yuan and 9.52 billion yuan, above estimates of 7.01 billion yuan from analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.
