China Mobile unveils integrated messaging service, paper says

China Mobile Ltd. (00941.HK) announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona a new integrated communications service that allows customers to combine messaging, voice services and contacts on their handsets, Beijing Times reported Thursday. The new service will allow subscribers to send and receive text, images and locations, without the need to download an instant messaging app like Tencent’s WeChat. Sources close to the carrier revealed that some handsets from Samsung, Sony, Huawei, Coolpad and Qingcheng will support the new service, the report said.
