Guanghui Energy gets nod for Xinjiang rail line, paper says

Coal miner Guanghui Energy Co., Ltd. (600256.CN) has been given the official go-ahead to build a railway to transport coal between Hongliuhe and Naomao Lake in Xinjiang, National Business Daily reported Thursday, citing a regulatory filing Wednesday. The privately funded project is expected to cost 10.87 billion yuan (US$1.77 billion). The approval from the National Development and Reform Commission reflects the government’s desire to draw private capital into previously state-monopoly industries, the report said.
