China Eastern Airlines has signed an agreement to buy 70 Airbus A320NEO passenger planes for US$6.37 billion, the official Xinhua news agency reported Sunday, citing a regulatory filing. The planes will be delivered from 2018 to 2020. The carrier will pay for the deal with its own money, bank loans and other financing, the report said. The new planes will serve rising demand for medium and short-distance travel.
