Shanghai eyes over 10,000 green vehicles by 2015, Xinhua says

Shanghai aims to have more than 10,000 new-energy vehicles on the city’s streets by 2015, the official Xinhua news agency reported Sunday, citing the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the Shanghai Electric Power Co. Ltd. (600021.CN). Commission chief Li Yaoxin said on Sunday that supportive measures will be rolled out while more charging piles will be established, especially in university campuses, government agencies and densely populated communities. The goal is to increase the number of charging piles in the city to more than 6,000, from 2,020 at the end of 2013, Zhao Yiliang, party secretary at Shanghai Electric Power, was quoted as saying.
