L’Oreal 2013 China sales up 10.2% at 13.28 bln yuan, paper says

French cosmetics giant L’Oreal S.A. said on Thursday sales in China grew 10.2 percent to 13.28 billion yuan (US$2.17 billion) in 2013, compared with a 12.4 percent growth in the previous year, the National Business Daily reported Friday. After posting double-digit sales growth in the country for 13th consecutive year, L’Oreal China chief executive Alexis Perakis-Valat said he hopes the company will maintain its high growth and continue expanding in lower-tier cities. The company’s high-end brand LANCÔME has entered 86 Chinese cities as of 2013, from 74 in the previous year, the report said.
