510 cosmetics, food imports fail quality checks, CNR says

A total of 510 imported cosmetics and food items failed quality checks by the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, China National Radio reported Sunday, citing the administration’s first blacklist for 2014. Cosmetics products imported from 13 countries and food items from 47 countries and regions made the list, including ones made by Johnson & Johnson, Maybelline, Elizabeth Arden, and Kao. The food was mainly confectionery, dairy products and drinks, which were either contaminated or incorrectly labeled, the report said.
