Only three Chinese cities meet air quality standards, FT says

A seaside city, an archipelago known for its Buddhist temples and the Tibetan capital were the only three of 74 of the nation’s largest cities to meet national air quality standards, the Financial Times reported Sunday, citing vice-minister of environmental protection Wu Shaoqing. Haikou, Zhoushan and Lhasa passed the air quality test while seven of the 10 worst cities were in Hebei, the report said.
