Feb coal imports down by 36% from Jan, paper says

China’s February coal imports fell 36.45 percent from January and 2.01 percent year on year to 22.82 million metric tons, National Business Daily reported Tuesday. Coal imports stayed high in November and December, and hit a record 35.91 million metric tons in January. The Lunar New Year holiday as well as a general pessimism on coal prices this year were to blame for the sharp fall in February, unnamed analysts were quoted as saying.
