CPIC to open one-third stake to private capital, paper says

State-owned China Power Investment Corp. will begin taking on private capital this year to reshape its shareholding structure, Economic Information Daily reported Thursday, citing president Lu Qizhou. Private investment will be able to hold as much as one-third of the company and take stakes in any part of the business, Lu was quoted as saying. He suggested it is more feasible and beneficial for private capital to invest in the company’s units rather than directly in the parent, the report said.
