Zhejiang CONBA Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (600572.CN) denied media reports claiming it holds shares in a company that was reported to have illegally used cod liver oil as raw material for baby snacks, financial news portal Jrj.com reported over the weekend, citing a company statement. CONBA was among the firms accused by China Central Television (CCTV) of involvement in substandard or unsafe products and services during its annual Consumer Rights Day special program on Saturday. Meanwhile, Gohigh Data Networks Technology Co. Ltd. (000851.CN) denied engaging in any illegal activity, after it was also included in the CCTV expose in connection with a product made by its subsidiary. The product, which seeks to help smartphone users to install apps in an easier and faster way, allegedly contains malicious programs and steals users’ private information, the report said. Despite Gohigh’s denial, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on Monday announced the company’s shares have been suspended from trading.
