Shanghai expects 13,000 new energy cars by 2015, paper says

Shanghai is targeting 13,000 new energy vehicles on its roads by 2015, Shanghai Securities News reported Tuesday, citing government sources. Those vehicles will be mainly used in public transport and as official vehicles, as well as for environmental sanitation authorities. The municipal government expects the new energy vehicles to save about 75,000 tons of gasoline and diesel oil and cut particulate emission by 100 tons and green house gases by 200,000 tons, the report said.
