Virtual credit cards, barcode payment to resume soon, paper says

Virtual credit cards and barcode payment could resume after operators meet security requirements, Shanghai Securities News reported Wednesday, citing Cai Hongbo, vice chairman of the Payment and Clearing Association of China. The People’s Bank of China suspended the services last week over concerns about data security and consumer protection. Operators should ensure adequate risk controls and tighter consumer protection when introducing innovative financial products and services, Cai was quoted as saying.
