China to become largest Asia-Pacific cruise market, paper says

China is on course to become the largest cruise market in Asia-Pacific, serving 4.5 million travelers a year by 2020, China Securities Journal reported Thursday, citing the Ministry of Transport. The government may offer tax incentives for related companies and visa-free stay for international travelers, according to a new policy on the cruise industry. Tianjin, Shanghai, Fujian and Hainan provinces have been selected to pilot the scheme, Cheng Juehao, an academic from the Shanghai International Shipping Institute, was quoted as saying.
