EU vote clouds Chinese Airbus orders, WSJ says

The European Parliament’s environment commission has rejected a compromise agreement on the European Union’s controversial carbon emissions levy on airlines, raising fresh doubts on whether Airbus will be able to seal contracts for 27 passenger jets that Chinese authorities have frozen, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. The deal would have appeased airlines and non-EU states angered by the EU’s decision to impose its Emissions Trading Scheme on flights to and from the region. It now will go before a full session of the Parliament, where it has better chances of being approved, on April 3, the report said.
