Inifiniti puts China at top of market list, paper says

Infiniti, Nissan’s luxury brand, sees China as the company’s most important market even though it accounts for just 1 percent of high-end car sales in the country, China Daily reported Monday, citing Infiniti China managing director Daniel Kirchert. Kirchert said Infiniti sold 17,000 cars in China last year, 54 percent more than the previous year, and the company aims to top sales of 100,000 vehicles in five years. “Although Infiniti is a brand that grew up in the United States, we have positioned China as our most important market,” Kirchert was quoted as saying.
